Corporate social responsibility
In financial year 2026-2027, Hand and Millar will be focusing its corporate social responsibilities on the following missions and activities as categorised by the Cabinet Office’s Social Value Model.
Make Britain a clean energy superpower
We will offset 100% of its calculated carbon emissions (scopes 1-3) in 2026 through carbon capture purchase from Forest Carbon’s Carbon Club.
We will partner with The Electric Car Scheme to support all employees with salary sacrifice for the purchase and charging of electric vehicles.
We will support the improvement of natural ecosystems in our local areas by using one of our company volunteer days to carry out litter cleaning and disposal.
Break down barriers to opportunity
We will partner with The Social Mobility Foundation to offer career path and professional guidance and support to disadvantaged sixth form students.
Build an NHS fit for the future
We have instituted the Department for Transport’s Cycle to Work scheme to support all employees to make their commute more active and environmentally friendly.
We will put in place team and individual step challenges for employees. The reward for meeting a team goal will be a donation to the company’s Charity of the Year (TBA), while the reward for meeting an individual goal will be a donation to a charity of the employee’s choice.
